Inspiration
Dr. Doan wanted to engage the five senses of patients, starting with the first impression: sight. Upon entering, patients are greeted by a space reminiscent of a chic hotel lobby. Diffusers mask the sterile smells often found in medical settings (smell). Soft blankets and neck pillows enhance the sense of touch and patients are encouraged to enjoy a nonalcoholic beverage from the fridge (taste). Noise-canceling headphones in every suite help patients tune out the sound of the drill, providing a pleasant auditory experience.
Fun Fact
The waiting room is designed like a speakeasy, cleverly hidden behind a bookshelf door.
